I just tried my first time-deposit savings at the start of this year knowing it will grow even how small the interest rate is. However, the interest rates for peso savings is going down. Are there any alternatives where to save the money and earn a little bit higher interests?

Hi Bro Effem. If the money in the time deposit account is for financial emergencies, then just let it stay there.
If it’s money you can afford to invest, then you might have better growth with UITF, particularly Balanced Funds and Equity Funds.
Put it in a balanced fund if you can afford not to touch the money in 3 years. Equity fund if at least 5 years.
Hi there. Just leave in the bank your average 3-6 monthly expense and invest the remaining money in mutual funds. For me, investing in mutual fund or MF is better than investing in uitf, because uitf yields are subjected to withholding tax and MF yields are tax free. A financial advisor will assist you regarding your risk appetite so you will know what fund suits you. Start investing early and enjoy!
