I’m about to start a fund with FAMI, and I was wondering if there was an easy way of doing it. In their site, they had this instruction (see bottom). With BPI I just had to show up at the branch along with some paper i signed (and accomplished online). Can I start the fund from my metrobank account?
For Initial Investment
Step 1. Get a copy of the Prospectus and study it.
Step 2. Fill out an Account Opening Form (AOF), Investment Application Form (IAF) and Signature Cards and submit the documents together with the following:
- For individual (personal) accounts, please submit a photocopy of two (2) valid IDs
Step 3. Make your investment through the following mode of payments:
- Cash
- Checks payable to the Fund of your choice:
- First Metro Save & Learn Equity Fund, Inc.
- First Metro Save & Learn Balanced Fund, Inc.
- First Metro Save & Learn Fixed Income Fund, Inc.
- First Metro Save & Learn Money Market Fund, Inc.
- Deposit directly at Metrobank Account
Step 5. Submit a copy of the accomplished forms and deposit slip and fax to Fax No. (02) 816-0467 or email at [email protected], then forward the originals to our office address afterwards, or you can pouch it to any Metrobank Branches near you. FAMI Pouch Code# 90020. For checks received, booking of investment will be made upon clearing of the check.

I’m sorry but will be a biased because I’m an IMG member..
I’m currently investing in FAMI through IMG. IMG is an independent broker that can process your documents and start investing.
You can also go directly to FAMI office at makati to open an account and deposit your succeeding investment to any metrobank area.
God Bless!

I opened a FAMI account about 3Q last year and I just had to print the documents, scan, email the soft copies and send the hard copies via my Metrobank branch. No need to show up. And yeah you can make transfers from your Metrobank savings account online to your FAMI account. You have to have your FAMI Account set up first though before you can make the transfers.
