Best is to check with their website and customer care. While HSBC’s banking and credit card (CC) customer care services are I think one of the best in the Phils, they have limited retail exposure i.e. they cater to those who can maintain 100KPhp above in monthly ave deposit. Also, you can have CC limits that you want as long as you have a cash guarantee of 120% of the limit amount which the bank requires to have on time deposit (earning measly 1% pa) with them. I am a depositor (Ayala branch) but I did close my CC account with them recently as I needed the time deposit money to invest somewhere. Note though that they are like any bank in the Phils – a day of delay of payment of CC – they will charge your account for fines (autodebit) immediately despite having a time deposit guarantee. This is one of the reasons I quit their CC but happy to keep them as online bank for now (until I have a suitable replacement).
There is an available credit card application form in any HSBC branch. I only needed to submit a copy of my payslip (at least two months-to present), photocopy of 2 kinds of ID (any government issued ID and/or your company id) then I also attached a certificate of employment letter from my employer. I did not have any bank account with HSBC but they still approved my application. during that time I only had 10k on my savings account with bdo.
Initial credit limit is 15k (and they increase it every four months granted you pay all your bills with them on time)
I think if you are female (applying for the red card) they are most likely to approve of your application (because my office mate who is a guy submitted his docs with mine kaso di approved yung kanya)
I suggest you wait till they have a promo like dati pag nag-apply ka you get a free charles and keith wallet, then shoes etc.
