Hi. I am a Filipino working in Australia and I want to open a bank account in the Philippines where I can deposit money directly. I will be working overseas for around two years more and there will be no time for me to go back in the country to open a savings account personally.
I don’t want to give money to my family for them to deposit to their bank account because this is for my personal retirement and I don’t want to to accidentally spend it.
Also, I invested in a business in the Philippines and my partner is now able to issue checks under my name as my dividends from the business. Since I don’t have a local bank account, they cannot deposit it anywhere, so I really need to know how I can open a simple savings account from a Philippine bank without me going home.
Is there a way to do this online? Thank you.

Browse into the websites of your favorite banks, BPI, BDO, Metrobank, RCBC, etc, and i suppose you will find there that these banks have links to some Australian banks. In the country am presently working there is a local remittance center that offers services of opening savings (atm) account to most Philippine banks. There should be the same services on local Australian remittance centers. Check with kababayans who are already there, get connected to the Filipino community or ask help from the Philippine Embassy. Take care.
It is easier to open a savings account through a remittance center like PNB. But when it comes to checking account you have open an account in the Philippines or go to a foreign branch of a Philippine bank.
