I am planning of putting up an association composed of CPAs for the purpose of helping small businesses and practioners. Do I need to register it with SEC or is DTI registration enough?

You have to register either as a corporation or a partnership at the SEC. There are a handful of documents and other requirements that you need to accomplish when registering. Check out http://www.sec.gov.ph for more details. You will be classified as a professional firm.

Hi Mam Susan, I am Jobel, also a CPA. We are also planning to put an association that have the same purpose as yours. Me and my classmates are already making a research about this. You may consider cooperative as the best business type of association for purpose like this. You have to register it at Cooperative Development Authority. Thanks and I hope that this helps you. God Bless.
