I’m converting our idle lot in the province into a farm by planting vegetables there and selling them in the local market. I don’t know what type of business in the Philippines this would fall under.
I asked the city officer assigned to business permits and he said it should fall under manufacturing business. But I don’t think it should be because I’m not manufacturing but producing (there is a difference).
In manufacturing, you should have big and expensive equipments and you “manufacture” a product from raw materials. In my case, it’s an agricultural business and I don’t have equipments and raw materials.
Of course, this is not a service business (another category of business type that you can register in the Philippines). But can I register it as a merchandising business?
Thank you.
