I am planning to invest on the stock market. I attended the seminar of citiseconline but I want to ask around if there is a better instrument which i can invest in, Mutual funds maybe?..I want to use the money after three years to fund my stay outside the country.

I think it’s relatively “safe” to invest in the stock market if your investment horizon is that long, but be sure to do cost averaging to minimize the risk.

If the amount is sizeable, I’d personally recommend that you spread out your investments. Perhaps a large part in equities (stocks), a good amount in moderate risk mutual funds and a small part in low risk investments.
