About collection agencies

I read that credit card companies sell your unsettled accounts to collection agencies, does that mean that i have to pay directly to them? or to the bank? thank you

   No. Always pay directly to the bank, and get a receipt / certification for your payment. Let the bank coordinate with their collection agency. And if the agency is asking your for the payment, just show them your receipt / payment certificate you got from the bank.
